The Seamy Underbelly of Cream Puff Making

Matthew invited me over to make cream puffs the other day, because he thought I would be good at piping out the dough. We had some successes.

The one in the middle reminds me of a marshmallow Peep.

Other puffs were not as fortunate looking.

I learned how to make pastry cones from parchment paper. Lots of them. Maybe you would like to learn too? I felt very accomplished. Back pat.

Things seemed to be going relatively well. Matthew made Chantilly cream for the innards, all we had to do is pipe it into the puffs. This is where the violence begins. Shield your delicate eyeballs.

A wound!

A splatter!

The carnage.

It’s terrible, yet I can’t look away. These cream puffs. So innocent. So unassuming.

Wait, I will save you.

By the way, making cream puffs slides quickly from swell to sweatshop. Let it never happen again.
