I don’t know about you, but I tend to walk down the street with my headphones on and my head bent, hurrying from one spot to another. I don’t mean to, its just easier. Less weird eye contact, less distractions, less possibility of stepping in a pile of dog poop, less startling of pigeons that could maybe fly up and touch you with their feathers. You know how it is.
Here’s what I’m realizing though.
I go through phases with this city, from where it seems like everyone and everything is kicking me hard in the shins to days where the sunlight hits in just the right way and it seems like New York City can do no wrong. I’m starting to think the difference is looking up. New York can surprise you in the nicest ways when you’re paying attention.
Oh hey, Brooklyn Bridge. Didn’t know you were there.
This house built in 1793, tucked neatly amongst the Wall Street skyscrapers.
Downtown Manhattan from the Water Taxi Beach looks suspiciously like a backdrop. Or maybe Jersey. Gasp!
Can you tell that I’m in a New York City love phase? Just a little bit? (Also, that I had a bunch of random New York photos that I wanted to share with you in a cohesive and thoughtful manner??)
Happy Monday, hope you all had a great Father’s Day!

The three legs of the Brooklyn Bridge hit the three levels of that building–and it looks like it’s tied to the buildings on either side!
It’s definitely either eating the buildings, or helping them stand up! Good vs. evil.
