The Writer by Richard Wilbur

The Celebrating 100 Years Exhibition at the big NYPL branch where Patience and Fortitude live,  is just heaps and heaps of mindbogglingly cool, and significant artifacts, from the original draft of the Star Spangled banner and the South African Freedom Charter to Malcolm X’s briefcase.  It’s free, it’s amazingly inspirational, and it’s only on until the end of the year, so go while you can.

This was one of the many pieces in the exhibition that I loved.

A lovely reading of the whole poem can be found here.
